For spring summer 2018, the Lemaire house remains faithful to its minimalism. that it sublime like nobody with small discrete and original touches. The pace becomes general.
In the heart of the Palais de Tokyo. Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Lin Tran, the duo behind the Lemaire brand, presented their latest collection. Outside light, cement beams, and white walls. the purity seems maximum.
In the middle, white chairs, as laid there, not aligned, but actually forming a complex maze in which the models paraded. Like the collection, where minimalism seems to be pushed to the extreme, reflection impresses.
Hairdressing in the spotlight
Behind the scenes is the hairdresser James Pecis. who is in charge of the hair of the mannequins with the products of the brand Phyto. “We left on two very strong inspirations: the hair of the Amerindians and a punk cut, the Chelsea cut”.
Working with the active Phyto volume product. the hair is then enhanced with extensions. The advice of the pro: “The lacquer is applied to the underside of the hair. so that it remains straight and does not fly outwards.”
The references are there: the two locks of the Chelsea. the texture neither really wavy nor really smooth of the Native American hair. But the whole thing is reworked and made the portable “for real life”, explains James. As everywhere in Lemaire, everything lies in the details.
Minimal silhouettes
A first silhouette immaculate gives the whole. On the podium, the monochrome outfits are connected, sometimes giving place to tie-dye prints. Blue, white, beige … the range of colors is sober, the knee-length cuts of the dresses or the jacket-pants sets also.
Yet nothing is trivial. Here, the jacket is tied at the back. There, buttons at the bottom of the pants come to discover the ankle. Again, the trenches are tied on the sides.
